The Logan Soil and Water Conservation District will be conducting an election for two supervisor positions at our Annual Meeting on August 31, 2017, 6:00 p.m. at Winner's Harvest Barn. Any Logan County resident, 18 years of age or older, can seek election to the Logan Soil and Water District Board of Supervisors.
There are 2 options for interested parties to be placed on the ballot.
Candidates for Logan SWCD Supervisor can be nominated by the Logan SWCD nominating committee. This committee consists of several individuals who look for candidates who are interested in soil and water conservation and the protection of natural resources in Logan County.
Individuals who are interested in running for Logan SWCD Supervisor positions may obtain a nomination petition form available at Logan SWCD, 324 Rd 11, Bellefontaine, OH, open Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We suggest you call before stopping to assure that the individual most suited to assist you will be available. Our number is 937-404-3143. The petition requires the signature of 10 Logan County residents and/or landowners. Petitions must be returned to the Logan SWCD office by noon Wednesday, July 27, 2017. Candidates meeting the eligibility requirements and petition deadline will be on the ballot for the election being conducted at the August 31 Annual Meeting.
Soil and Water Conservation Districts, located in all 88 counties, are legal subdivisions of state government that provide natural resource management assistance to county landowners and other units of government. The Districts are governed by a five member board of elected county residents. Board members serve staggered three year terms and are not compensated for their service.
